Anak Krakatau: Incredible volcanic eruption

I'm obsessed with volcanoes. I've been to several, all in Indonesia. Here's another Indonesian volcano which I've longed to visit - Krakatau (also spelled Krakatoa), located between the islands of Java and Sumatra. The one shown here erupted on November 1st, 2010. Very incredible work of Mother Nature.

Krakatau is an extremely active volcano, and it's world renowned for its 1883 eruption, in which more than 40,000 people on the island were wiped out. Its explosion is to this day considered to be the loudest sound ever heard in modern history, with reports of it being heard nearly 3,000 miles from its point of origin - in places as far as Mauritius and Perth, Australia.
