Wat Nikrodharam

It's possibly the largest and most significant Buddhist shrine in Alor Star, Kedah. The wat's stunning façade reflects typical flamboyant Thai Buddhist architecture with minor Chinese elements, making it one of the city's most dazzling architectural gems. Its prime location in downtown Alor Star reminds everyone here of Kedah's past as a tributary state of Siam. The wat functions as an oasis of spirituality and tranquillity to the city's mainly Thai and Chinese Buddhist community.
