Les Bleus rekindle their World Cup passion and dreams

Against all odds, the French squad (a.k.a. Les Bleus) has made it to the quarter-finals after a spectacular 3-1 victory over the heavily favoured Spaniards. Woohoo!

I woke up at 3 something in the midnight just to catch this exciting match between the 2 European powerhouses live on TV. This was the first ever midnight match I'd managed to watch since the tournament began in Germany approximately 3 weeks ago. Despite there was school in the next morning, the temptation of this much anticipated match had made me succumbed to it and overcome my drowsiness, especially thinking of the fact that this could be the last appearance of France in this tournament.

So did I regret watching it and sacrificing my precious sleep? NOPE! I was damn pleased that I didn't miss this great match. Plus, I was even more delighted to see France advancing to the quarter-finals to meet with the 5-time world champions --- Brazil in their upcoming match. That's definitely gonna be another stunning match not to be missed!

Could France remake history by repeating their glorious 3-0 victory over Brazil in the 1998 FIFA World Cup final back then in their homeland? I really hope so, though it seems quite impossible (yet, nothing's impossible right?). Whatever the future holds for France, I just wanna say that, "Les Bleus, play your best and forget the rest! I love ye forever!"

Glad + Sad = Mixed Emotions

So which one do you wanna know first? I think I betta start with the sad news first. Since the 2006 FIFA World Cup kicked off in Germany, I bet a lota guys would have done one particular thing --- betting. Yeah... I laid my very first bet of the tournament yesterday --- and I lost! ><" I think I'm pretty sui for losing my first ever bet! It's not a small amount of money (to me lah) --- RM 50! Now laugh all you want. I know you guys are scoffing at me right now. :weeps:

Now for the good news (also related to the World Cup :P). My beloved France has progressed to the final 16! Yippie! The French will be meeting with the Spaniards (it was them who caused me to lose my money last night! Hghhh!) to vie for a spot in the quarter-finals. Too bad my instinct tells me that France would be defeated by the victorious Spain. Yikes! I hope there would be a draw and both teams would then move on to try their luck and skills on penalty shoot-out (hopefully France will win). This is gotta be an exciting match. Oh my... Can't wait for that!

I got pimped --- 4 being a consolation winner! :P

I'm officially the last winner of the "smashpOp PIMPS YOU!" contest organized by smashpOp on his blog --- smashing pOpstar!

I'm not kidding okay... Here's the concrete proof in case you guys either don't believe me or don't even know what da hell I'm talkin' about:

So... Do you guys believe me now? See... I told you so! Muahaha... What an honour to have won this prize! smashpOp initially missed out one winner for the consolation prize (he named 4 winners instead of 5), and I'm that lost sheep! :P What a surprise I had when he came to my blog and told me about the great news. I'm really glad that I won (my hardwork did pay off :P)!

Thanx pOp for announcing me one of the winners! And also a million thanx for the free publicity of tiMes JoUrNaL on his amazing blog! :P I'm currently waiting anxiously for my prize to arrive --- a custom-made badge to beautify my dear blog! Woohoo... Can't wait for that!

radio.blog

I'm so glad and pleased right now! Reason? I've finally made it --- launching my very first jukebox on my blog! In case you guys still haven't noticed that thingy lurking somewhere on this blog, it's actually very easy to find --- just located below the chatbox. There you have it --- my awesome jukebox, courtesy of radio.blog!

I've been looking for a promising free web host to host this application. Most of 'em either don't support this thingy or require the users to place those distracting ads on their blogs, and I ended up very frustrated at one time. Yet to my utmost surprise, I finally found it after searching around for quite some days. This web host offers a whopping 300 MB of free space for the cost of nothing --- more than anything that I could ask for. You could never imagine how glad I am to discover it. One thing for sure, I can store a lota songs that are going to be played in my jukebox! Isn't this nice?

The songs in my playlist are all my favourites, and I'll be constantly updating it as time goes by. May this latest addition to my blog keeps you guys coming back to the one and only tiMes JoUrNaL! :gratitude:

P/S: Broadband connection is highly recommended. Dial-up users please beware! :P

Addendum: Crap... I just realise that the web host doesn't permit applications like radio.blog! Ironically, those crappy web hosts I found do not have this rule enforced. What the hell... Why oh why!?! Arghhh... I think I betta stick to this web host for the time being (too reluctant to let go ><") until my account get terminated mercilessly by that particular web host without prior notice. Hopefully that won't happen. :praying hard:

It's screening... finally...

A discovery I made today makes me feel that my hometown is really cheap! :shakes head:

I just know that Alor Star's sole cinema has begun to screen The Da Vinci Code. I saw a big poster of the movie being pasted on the wall at the entrance of the cinema. Later, I was told by a cousin that the movie was already screening when she was there last week. My immediate response was, "Crap! This movie is supposed to screen on May 18th, and that was 3 weeks ago!" Nevermind, I'd watched this movie with my friends a few days ago at my home and I'm now pretty satisfied (though the quality sux a lot --- It's a pirated DVD man... What do you expect? :P).

I'm currently waiting to watch The Omen in the same cinema, yet I don't put much hope on this. Reasons? As usual, it's not even here yet! = =" Plus, even if it would be screened here, I suppose it would take a few weeks' time to reach here. I'm sick of waiting. That's it. I think that I would probably end up buying another copy of pirated DVD and watch it at my home's comfort. :P

World Cup Fever... Have you got it?

Today, the world's attention is focused on the land of beers, cuckoo clocks and Oktoberfest --- Germany --- the host nation of the 2006 FIFA World Cup. Yeah... Everyone's been anticipating for this moment to arrive since the last global soccer phenomenon kicked off 4 years ago in co-host nations --- South Korea and Japan --- the first time ever Asian nations were selected as its venue.

So which nation do I support? If you guys have known me well enough, you should've no problems in guessing this right. My passion goes for France, forever and always. After the humiliating defeat and elimination from the first round 4 years ago, France has sworn to bring back the glory of being the 1998 FIFA World Cup champions. The drastic plunge in the recent world rankings from no. 2 to no. 8 has made this dream quite tough --- though not impossible --- to achieve.

The world's favourite is still mighty Brazil --- 5-time champions of the FIFA World Cup, including the 2002 tournament and also the current world no.1. Is Brazil able to defend her title and prove her invincibility to the world once more? Maybe, and maybe not. Heaven knows. Still, I'll pray for France no matter what happens. Vive la France! Don't let me down!

Numa Numa!

I know this is an old story. I'm posting this clip just for the sake of entertainment. In case you're still wondering what this is, don't hesitate to hit the play button and watch! This video is so famous (and the song as well :P) that the person who made it is now a world-renowned Internet celebrity (though unwillingly). So anyone's gonna make his/her own hilarious webcam video? Who knows you might be the very next Web superstar the world is searching for! +<

P/S: Ain't that guy freakin' cute and funny? LMAO!

The Solomon Key

Dan Brown writes again! Following the unprecedented phenomena of Angels & Demons and The Da Vinci Code, here comes another sequel, The Solomon Key, to the anticipation of Dan Brown's fans. The novel is slated to début on bookshelves worldwide next year. Seems like this is a golden opportunity for my book collection to stretch its arms again! :P

One question in mind: Would this book be as phenomenal as its prequels? Seems like there's no alternative but to wait for this riddle to be unravelled next year. I can't wait to find out!
