Germany's first ever female Chancellor

Germany gets first woman leader

Well well... She'd written her very own glorious chapter of history on the very first day of becoming Germany's 34th Chancellor (8th of the Federal Republic of Germany). She's the first ever female Chancellor of Germany, the first woman to lead Germany since it became a modern nation state in 1871, and also the first German national from the former Communist-ruled German Democratic Republic (a.k.a. East Germany) to lead her country. These unprecedented events have certainly guaranteed her the admission into the modern history of German politics.

One more thing. I've just found out that she shares the same birthdate with me --- July 17th, although there's a 33-year gap between our ages. No wonder I was supporting her candidature during the 2005 federal election! It seemed that it was all predestined. Wouldn't it be awesome if I was invited by the German Chancellor to celebrate our birthdays together in her grand official residence? Oh Lord... I was dreaming again!

In short, good luck on your journey to triumph, Angela Dorothea Merkel!
